No Exception

In America, snus seems to be a source of puzzlement for many people. My friend Dan is no exception. When I first switched from cigarettes to snus as my preferred means of enjoying tobacco, my friend Dan seemed to regard my can of Goteborgs Rape with extreme curiosity.

One night we were sitting outside of a coffee shop and Dan was reading the Swedish language warning label on the underside of the can. He quickly tired of this and flipped the can over and, desiring to smell the snus itself, popped open the ashtray lid and found a spent portion of mine from earlier in the evening, still slimy with saliva. He reacted with a look of horror and disgust upon his face before loudly saying, "you're gonna put that fucking thing in your mouth?!" This caused everybody in our vicinity to whip their heads around to stare at us, leaving me in a laughing fit.

As I said before, snus seems to confuse Americans and upon that night, my friend Dan was definitely no exception at all.
